About

Research software the way you wish reviews worked.

AI-Powered Buy reads Google, Bing, and Reddit for you, checks the sources against each other, and hands back one cited, ranked answer to the question you actually asked.

Why it exists

Choosing a piece of software should not take an afternoon. In practice it usually does. You search for the best tool for a job and get list articles that all recommend the same products, often because those products pay the highest commission. Vendor pages tell you what the product wants you to believe. Reddit threads have the honest opinions, but they are scattered, dated, and contradict each other.

AI-Powered Buy was built to do that reading for you. It searches the places where the answers actually are, compares what each source says, and writes a short report that shows its work. Every claim links back to where it came from, so you can check anything that matters before you spend money.

Who is behind it

AI-Powered Buy is designed, built, and run by Ashen Thilakarathna, an independent full-stack developer. The research agent, the web app, the billing, and the blog are all built and maintained by the same person.

It is an independent, fully online product. It is not yet a registered company and there is no office to visit. That also means that when you email us, you reach the person who writes the code and can actually fix the problem.

What we believe

  • Show the sources. Every claim in a report is cited. If you cannot trace it, you should not have to trust it.
  • Show the disagreements. When sources contradict each other, the report says so instead of quietly picking a side.
  • Real users count. What people say after months of using a tool is often more useful than the feature page, so community discussion is treated as a first class source.
  • Your research is yours. We never train models on your questions, and you can delete your history or your whole account at any time.

How we make money

There are two sources of revenue, and we think you should know both.

  • Subscriptions. The Free plan includes 5 research queries a month. Pro costs $12 a month, or $9 a month billed annually, and adds more queries, Reddit research, and unlimited history. See pricing for details.
  • Affiliate links. Some product links in research results and on our blog are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate links never decide what gets recommended. The research agent ranks products without knowing which of them have an affiliate program. Links are matched to products only after the report is written, so a product cannot rank higher because it pays us.

Where we are today

AI-Powered Buy is a young product and it is improving every week. Today it researches software and AI tools across Google, Bing, and Reddit, writes ranked comparisons with citations, saves your research history, and exports reports to PDF and CSV. Source coverage is still expanding, and feedback directly shapes what gets built next.
