For product managers

Make the build or buy call with evidence, not tabs.

Product managers are constantly asked to pick tools and justify the choice. AI-Powered Buy turns a vague "what should we use for this?" into a cited shortlist you can bring to planning.

The problem

Tool decisions land on product managers all the time, and they rarely come with time set aside for research.

  • Engineering wants a recommendation for an analytics, feature flag, or feedback tool by the end of the week.
  • Build or buy discussions stall because nobody has a clear view of what already exists and what it costs.
  • Vendor comparison pages are written by the vendors, and review sites rank whoever pays for placement.
  • Research ends up as a pile of browser tabs that is hard to summarise for stakeholders.

How AI-Powered Buy helps

  • A shortlist fitted to your context

Include team size, stack, and budget in the question and the ranking reflects them, instead of a generic list of the biggest names.

  • Evidence for the decision

Every pro, con, and price is cited, so when someone asks why you picked a tool, the answer is one click away.

  • Honest signals from real users

On Pro, Reddit discussions surface problems vendors do not mention, like painful migrations, surprise pricing tiers, or slow support.

  • Ready for the planning doc

Export the report to PDF for a stakeholder update, or to CSV to add your own scoring columns.

Questions you can ask

  • “Best feature flag tools for a 15 person SaaS team using React and Node”
  • “PostHog vs Mixpanel for a B2B product with fewer than 10,000 monthly users”
  • “Best in-app feedback and survey tools under $100 a month”
  • “Build or buy: open source alternatives to Intercom for customer messaging”

A common pattern is to run one broad question to map the category, then a second, narrower question comparing the top two or three options head to head. Save both reports to history, and link the exported PDF in your decision doc so the reasoning stays attached to the decision.

Where it fits, and where it does not

Research covers public information. It will not know your internal constraints, such as a mandated cloud provider or an existing enterprise contract, unless you put them in the question. Treat the report as the starting point for a trial, not the end of evaluation.
